They can--- they can do one to see if you ovualte"ed" after the fact. They can also do some ultrasound scans of your ovaries to see if you have mature egg/ etc.

ok thanks for the help...my dh and I have decided to wait to go see the re for a few more months and see if we can do it on our own...but I can talk to my obgyn and see what they have to say about it....

If it were me, I'd go see the fertility doctor. If he/she says you're fine, no love lost. Having these problems at a young age sounds scary, but really it's so much better to be your age and not my age with fertility problems! My gyn said I was "perfectly fine" and as it turns out there is no way I would have gotten pregnant on my own (aside from a miraculous event). I was 27 at the time. Of course you have to do what's best for you and your dh, but that's my two cents worth.

Well the problem being that its not completely covered under our insurance so we are going to wait until after christmas and hopeful something will happen before then....

Welcome Amanda, sorry it's late but I was out of town this last weekend and busy and sick.

I sure hope it happens before you have to go to the RE so that you don't have the extra expense.

Wonderful ladies here with a mountain of knowledge.
