Why do they always tell me at parties? Why can't they call me, or tell me at a different time? And why always at the beginning of parties when I have to suffer through pretending to be happy for the whole party? And why do they have to say, "well, I knew I was ovulating, but we thought we'd just take the chance. We didn't really want another one - and it had better be a girl!"

I hope and pray that I am more aware of other people's feelings and don't do this kind of stuff to others.

Exactly how I feel. After almost 9 years of this crap I couldn't agree with you more.

I'm so sorry you had to hear the news like that. Someone else's good news never makes your bad feel any better.

(((hugs))) and I hope they have a boy just in spite of their "it better be a girl comment".

The most difficult to date was 2 work colleagues telling me of their pregnancies within 10 mins. I lost it a bit that day!

But my SIL is the best! Popping them out like their shelling peas. She's PG with #4 (#1 is 4 yrs #2 is 3 yrs and #3 is 2 yrs) the say about not being able to cope with the 3 that they have and then 'joke' about not being able to cope with 'C', and say that they nearly called us to take her off their hands!!??

I could go on, but I'd rather not waste my breath!

unless you deal with IF personally people will continue to be a bit tactless IMO. Sorry you had to deal with that and I'm sure you are not a bit insensitive to others. We all deal with this in some way I'm currently working with my friends who is 22wks pg after trying less than a year. In fairness to her she called me at home personally when I was out sick with back to tell me but she is so not really interested in this pregnancy (actually think she is still in shock!) so its hard to be around her as we are close. Anywho, sorry off tangent....
