Default Has anyone taken clomid?

Hi. I'm new to this site but my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since Feb. of 06. My OB/GYN wouldn't do anything until a year had passed and after running some tests he found out I don't ovulate. So, I'm starting Clomid on the 20th of this month. I'm kind of nervous b/c I don't know what to expect. Can you tell me some of the side effects I can look forward to? If I'm not pregnant after 3 months he's taking me off of it b/c he said that if it hasn't worked in 3 months it's not going too. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Hello!
hopefully you aren't here long~

I took clomid on 3 different occasions for several months and i will tell you it pushed me right over the edge! i was such a b$$$$$ that is wasn't even funny! now, once you know that is the culprit you can work with it...but i was miserable! it worked though! i did ovulate well, we had several IUI;ls but no sucess.....that 's another story!

It does do it's job! you will ovulate, but i guess you have to look at can you deal with the side effects? it's like REAL REAL REAL psychotic pms!!!!!!!!!!!

and i did end up with cysts because the clomid really stimulated the ovaries.
But you know, it may be different for you? just go in knowing you might want to really hurt someone! and if you don't then great!
but it's not forever.....i wish you luck!

O gosh! I'm gonna beat up my husband before we ever have a child?! haha I hope that I don't get the side effects, just the pregnant part. Thank you though for telling me what you went through. I hate that you had to go through that though. That sounds like it really sucked!

It was pretty "dark" days~ i don't mean to sound so negative but for me, it was bad, but~ i still took it, i wanted the outcome...just give your husband ample warning~~ and know that you are not going crazy, it's just the medicine~

Hi! I'm with Dawn. I took clomid for 11 cycles. The first 6 I turned into phsyco wife. I would have hot fashes, cry, mental break downs. It was hard for me. I always say they should put a warning on the bottle for husbands, "wife may turn nuts."

Take it at night with some food. That helps.

The great news is clomid can really help women who may not ovulate! I know someone who doesn't ovulate on her own, but by the second month on clomid is pregnant. I truly hope it works for you and your holding your little one in no time.
