  • Dearest Sarah,

I am SO SO sad to hear of your loss, I know what you went through to get Alexandra, and it pains me to think of you having to go through any more loss. My heart and thoughts are with you and John, always.

I don't know how I feel about 'Jane', at first I wanted to fly over and punch her friggin lights out. Then I felt overwhelming pity for her, sorry that she doesn't have the gift to put other people before herself. Sorry for her baby, who will be taught to lean on other people and not give anything back. Sorry that 'Jane' doesn't know what it feels like to give a little bit of yourself and have it returned 10-fold.

I can understand you wanting to let her know how you felt, but I really think that, being the kind of person she appears to be, that she will not have a clue where you're coming from, and she may even twist it totally round and see it that you're jealous of her being PG.

She sounds like she's been spared the pain of a loss or a failed treatment, and it sounds like she have very little empathy/sympathy skills, so she's unlikely to be able to see her actions from your point of view.

I agree with everyone else. Cross her off your email, phone and Christmas card list. Put her to the back of your mind. I for one don't think she's worth it. But be prepared that when the baby's born (or God forbid if she loses her baby) that she will come back into your life wanting to lean on you again.

I am sending you all my love and hugs Sarah, please know that for that one shi*ty friend there are at least 20 good friends here, who love and respect you, and who will support you no matter what.

    Your friend Tracey xx
