Smile I had my retrieval :)

Hello ladies

I had my retrieval at 6:00 AM on Tuesday. It went well. It went so quick.
All I remember is our Dr. saying "let's go get them!" and before I knew it the anethesiest was putting an I.V in my hand and I was being put under a "twilight" anesthetic.
I kinda remember when it was all over, my dh walking me down a corridor with the nurse on my other side and they put me on a bed in a room with a tv and dvd machine. This was the same room dh had to produce his sample, while I lay passed out on a bed beside him

Weird. Probably more weird for him. It was soo funny because I remember opening my eyes for a bit and seeing my dh and my dr. trying to figure out the dvd machine so dh could put on a porn movie

to help him out.

DH said I was saying funny things through the retrieval. I apparently thanked the doctor and everyone in the room at least 5 times. I also asked the dr. "is the 7th follicle in the 7th follicle" I don't even know what I was trying to say.

Anyways the good news was they retrieved

22 EGGS !!

I got the phone call today that of the 22 eggs only 13 were good. (6 were too young and 3 were too mature).
Of the 13 eggs we have 9 fertilized embies.
(5 with natural IVF and 4 with ICSI)
So on Sunday Sept 26th the doctor will transfer the best one of the 9 and freeze the rest.

At this point they are still early and some of the 9 may not make it to blast. (5days)
So we will get an update on Friday of how the 9 embies are doing.

Oh Cat, we are only putting in one embie as that was what our doctor recomended. I am at a higher risk to miscarry so he doesn't want to chance a multiple pg as that would really put me at high risk due to the shape of my uterus. It isn't as spacious as a reg. uterus.

So I will keep you all posted with how it goes.
Thanks everyone for the support!

everything sounds great.
Now, you just have to relax and wait for the transfer (I know easier said than done)
Good luck with the transfer.
