  • Hi There,

Could you fabulous ladies help me ?

I am trying for a baby from past two months without using any of the fertility checking tool.but from this month (3rd cycle) I am using OPK to determine m,y ovulation.I checked on 12 CD and found a positive result so i thought slowly my CM will change to EWCM but on 12 and 13 14 CD itself it was a thick CM and on 15 CD it disappeared.I don't know if i am ovulating or not?I used to check my CM before and last month i had lots of CM and a EWCM kind of thing on CD 15 .
Has anybody has idea whats going on???

  • That all seems pretty normal. You don't have a need for EWCM after ovulation. So if you're getting the right mucus around the time you're getting a positive OPK, it seems that your body is doing what it's supposed to do. The cervical mucus is there to provide the right "avenue" for the sperm to travel in the cervix to the tubes and to find the egg---at the time of ovulation (but not really after because it's unnecessary after that. So it seems that your body is doing what it's supposed to do.

Pick up a copy of Toni Weschler's book Taking Charge of Your Fertility at the library or on Amazon. It'll really give you good insight to how your body works regarding conception, ovulation, and reproduction. I understood and had an entirely new appreciation of my body after reading this book.

  • Hi Dopey406,

Thanks a lot for your reply .I really appreciate it.

Actually as per the OP kit it culd give positive and identify ovulation before 24-48 hurs so i got the result positive on CD 12 and i found my mucus thick till 12th day as well as on 13th and 14th day and on 15 it became overall no ewcm in my entire cycle.

Can I still have chances of getting pregnant??

  • Yes, depending on when you had intercourse. While CM is one indicator of ovulation, it isn't the ONLY indicator of ovulation.
