  • When I lived in San Francisco, I had many older friends who were child free, but they were child free by choice, not by infertility. One never wanted kids. Felt she had a great marriage so why disrupt it. Another simply got to the age of 40 without a husband and said, "well, guess I'm not gonna have kids". It was no big deal to her. I think it is much harder to change your whole life plan. I do believe there will be a time when you'll know which decision to make.
