Talking Making sure were ready!

I didn't know really were to post this so I figured here would be close.
So my dh has no children and I have a 13 and 9 yr old.I do watch my niece and nephew 4mnths and 2yrs old.My dh being 7 yrs younger then me have always been a little worried that he wouldn't be emotionally ready to be a NEW dad.Handling a 9 and 13 yr old is totally different then a newborn and toddler. So Friday he was off and I had to take my daughter in for a sports physical.Well I had the baby's and my son.So I asked him if he wanted to go! He said sure! Now in the past he has spent time with the babies and has been GREAT,but only sees them about an hour before work.So we all pile in the truck(which is way too small) and go to the doctors. He did wonderful.Christan (2yr) had a stinky butt so he offered to go change it.Then after the doctors we got lunch and took everybody to the park.I can safely say it wasn't too bad.It was a little cramped in the truck (my car only fits 5 and truck fits 6 tight) and a little busy with watching a 2yr old.I could get used to it really quick though.I have to say that he had no problems dealing with anyone, he even came and checked on Satara (4mnth old) a few times and talked to her.So I can safely say that he is more ready then my first husband with my 2 child! I am so lucky...I just hope that his wish for twins doesn't come true!

Having just had this experience this weekend myself, its a good feeling! Although mine was a bit different as I was all alone with 4 kids

Well my DH was out mowing and edging the lawn, so if an emergency happened I could have asked him to come in

Its better when its your kids though! You know them and what works!

I hope you are blessed with a beautiful baby soon!

He does miss them when he has to leave,or if he doesn't get to see them at all.He was raised around a lot of little kids, cousins and such so he has an idea of what to expect.I guess I am just glad that we can handle it.

I'm glad everything went well! Your 13 and 9 year old will be a huge asset when #3 arrives! They will adore the new arrival! Sounds perfect. Hope it's not much longer for you to wait

BTW I know what you mean about vehicles suddenly not seeming big enough when you fill it with children! Those extra 2 car seats take up a lot of space!!
