Default New. Trying to Conceive.

Hello all!! =)
Me and my husband have been together for a total of 8 almost 9 years and married for 2 and a half.
We have been trying to conceive now for almot 2 years.
I just recently went to see my family doctor about it.... she is going to refer me to a gynecologist...
Should I just go straight to a fertility specialst?
Or should I just continue going to the gynecologist?
My Health insurance doesnt cover Fertility, so I've been completely stressed.

Help a noobie with more information with help trying to get pregnant...... Thanks!!

If you have been TTC for two years I would consider going straight to a fertility specialist. After one year of trying without getting pregnant you are considered to have fertility issues, so I would not wait another minute before making that appointment. They will run a battery of tests on you and your hubby and hopefully help you find a way to conceive. I have been through the process myself, and although I was petrified to find out if anything was wrong- once I actually knew what was going on and had a plan to deal with it I felt much better. Many of us on this board have had fertility issues- we are here to answer any other questions you might have. Good luck and welcome!!!

Thank you so much for your advice! =)
I guess the gyno is also a fertility specialist.
But as a gyno, she's going to do as much as she can for me before she gets in fertility specialist mode.
Can a regular Gyno prescribe me clomid? I heard that before any feritlity treatments, they start with clomid?

Oh, I know how THAT feels! It is hard to watch everyone around you getting pregnant. I took clomid for a fertility test and that's how I got pregnant with my daughter (now almost 15 months) and yes, your OB/GYN can prescribe clomid without any fertility testing and sometimes that is the first step. I really hope that is all you need! Good luck and keep us posted! Glad you found us!
