  • I went to lunch with a friend and there must have been 10 pregnant ladies all at the resteraunt. I swear all of them kept rubbing, patting, resting their hands on their tummies.

I hope one day when I am blessed with the miracle of being pregnant I'm much more thoughtful to others around me. You never know who is in the room with you and what struggles they might have. I am not saying they should not love their babies. By all means please love, pat, kiss, rub, but I wish some would be thoughtful to others around them who may never get the chance to feel that miracle bump.

  • I think it's an unconscious thing. I guess if it's kicking you, it's instinctive to kinda let 'it' know you know it's there.

I don't truthfully know tho. I rub my belly when I have wind, does that count??

Seriously, I know what you mean - the 2 pregant girls at my work already rub their bellies and they're both under 12 weeks, one's even bought herself some maternity jeans, and she isn't even showing! I have no clue about it all!!! It's beyoind me!

  • I never rubbed mine in public and don't understand those who do. As for resting on your tummy, when you are big there isn't any other place for your hands to go.

  • I don't do it on purpose to make other women feel bad. Sometimes the uncomfortableness is just too much and I have to rub it no matter where I am or whose watching. Lately it feels like the baby is trying to burst out and I need to rub the spot down. It's this huge lump that sticks out. I can't help it. I'm sorry if the rubbing offends some women...

    Guess I'm just way hormonal.
