Question OPK - Help

Alright. . . I bought some ovulation predictor test strips. On CD12 (the first one) my line was lighter but almost similar to the ref line. From CD13-17 there was barely a line. Then on CD18, it was similar to the ref line again. I know the instructions say that if it's similar or darker, the ovulation was going to happen. Is there anything that could affect your LH levels naturally? My line on CD18 was awefully close to the line on CD12. I'm just really confused. DH and I started BDing on CD16 just to be safe. My last 2 cycles have been 38 days long and the instructions predicted that ovulation was around 20. . . Any clue on what could be going on??

Thanks for the help. Just feeling a little frustrated today trying to figure out how to read those darn things.

I feel the same way about these things. It took me a couple of months to figure them out. A few times I never got a darker line and another couple of time I got nothing. really, there was nothing!!!! All of this to say, I'm with you on the frustration, but I don't know what to tell you. I'm going this route again next cycle so if you learn something, let me know!

Thanks!!

My test yesterday CD19 (with a different brand) showed a line that was almost the same as the ref. My first thought was that I had my surge so DH and I BDed last night just in case. Has anyone used the electronic OPK's? I'm assuming they would be easier to read...

My RE told me to use the clear plan ones, and they seem to be working for me. I had nothing and more nothing, and then bam I had a line that was about as dark as the control line.

With other brands, and using them later in the day (the only time that works for me is between 1 and 2 pm) they didn't work for me at all.
