Default PCOS Diet

For those of you with PCOS, do you follow a special diet too? I have just been reading up on the Glycemic Insulin Diet or whatever its called. Luckily I already eat most of what "to eat" according to them. I just got to up my intake. But this diet also says no more cake, cookies, and muffins! Ahhh!!!

But I don't eat those very often either. Once in awhiel can't hurt, right?

I went on the low carb diet which I think is what helped me to get pg the first time. I am kind of off and on it now I lost almost 20 lbs and have managed to keep it off so far. I was told to stay on the same type of diet for type 2 diabetics because PCOS has all the same symptoms and could lead to diabetes in the future. I figure that I might as well be careful now so that it does not turn into full blown diabetes some day.

I am on the LA Weight Loss diet, I figure losing weight and getting healthy might help with the getting pregnant. I don't eat many sugars and all the extra crap I used to ingest, and I think I am better for it.

I went on the Insulin resistance diet first time TTC, lost 50 lbs and did get pg. This time, I'm slipping a bit and need to get back with it. One thing I liked about that diet, is that it focuses on balancing carbs and protiens. It limits sweets and muffins and such, but it does allow you to eat them on occasion provided you balance the carbs with a suitable amount of protien to ofset the insulin surge.
