I was wondering what everyones take is on No Name Brand pregnancy tests. I took one this morning (I think it was the store brand of First Response because it said that it could read up to 4 days before my period) It read invalid...there was no lines or anything and I am 4 days from my period.

Any thoughts, is it better to spring for the name brand?

I have only used no name brand tests a couple of times and they were negative, so I don't know how good they are at positives. However, I will tell you that there hasn't been much luck with the 4 days before your period thing on here. There were a bunch of us who tested early last month and no one got a bfp. I think when we all retested only like 1 person got a positive and it didn't show positive until the day their period was due. If you get as discouraged by bfn's as I do, you may want to wait a few days.

Either you got a bad test or the test was done wrong because there should be at least one line on there. Even the store brands should have a line that shows up as soon as the it is soaked. on the box it should say that if no line shows up at all then you may have noy got a sufficient amount of urin on the asorbent tip.

i have only used name brands from the store then i used some i had ordered online...but never had a + so i really don't know

I bought the $$ EPT or First Response every time and never get a BFP until at least the day my period is due(it's faint then and gets stronger later). The early thing just isn't reliable for everyone. I just can't bring myself to go cheap eventhough I know they probably are the exact same thing from the same factory even.
