Default QTEACH?

Hey I know you are doing Hcg shots, but I am knew to it. What exactly do the shots do for you? Are you doing anything else besides the shots or what? I am kinda wondering what is next for me if the Clomid doesnt work. I start round two of Clomid today. I am hoping this will be it, but like you...I like to have a back up plan in order! Thanks for any input you or anyone else can give me.

Hi...
I'm not doing hcg shots right now. The way it works is, at the beginning of your cycle, you do fsh shots. They're a fertility drug. I'm on one called Follistim. I went for a baseline u/s and b/w on day 3 of my cycle. This is just to make sure my estrogen is nice and low and there are no follicles in there. I inject myself nightly Sat, Sun, today, and then tomorrow I go back for u/s and b/w again. This way they can see if the follistim is working well enough, or too well, and adjust the dosage. I'm guessing I'll do this for 3 more days after that, and go back up for more b/w and us. For me, usually after that time I'm close to ready.
So THEN, they'll have you give yourself the hcg shot to make you ovulate. 1 1/2 days later, you have an insemination. Then, I'll give myself supplemental hcg to lengthen my LP.
Hope this helps.

Yes it does. Actually helped me alot. I was trying to figure out it you used this with IUI or what I was a little confused. Are the shots expensive. My insurance wont cover any thing except diagnosis of infertility.

They can be... but my insurance doesn't cover anything but the diagnosis either, and they covered the meds this time around. Your prescription drug plan may be different than your insurance. But yes, the shots can be over 1000. My meds were 2000 this time, but she ordered me a lot, I think because insurance was covering it.
