Is this your 1st time TTC? If so, my honest advise is not to think about it so much. If you have no previous history (or family history) of having trouble getting/staying pregnant, then just have fun being "free" with your husband.

No offense to all the women on here that are really into the counting & such, but I think I would have gone crazy if I had done that the 1st time right outta the gate!

It is my first time TTC. We have "been trying" for about 5 months, but took a very relaxed approach. And honestly, I don't think our timing was right in terms of my ovulation. My OB/GYN told me once my period ended, to DTD every other day. We did that, but I think we kind of stopped before my ovulation took place. I am taking a relaxed approach, and have no family hx in terms of difficulty. On the contrary, my mom is one of seven and there are 20 grandkids. I'd say my family is pretty fertile!

I guess I just wanted to be sure my method and calculations were correct! But we are having "fun" and making this a good experience rather than a stressed one!

Thanks for the advice.

I'm not currently pregnant but have been before and currently on a forced ttc break.
In my experiance and this may be the case for others but I have a 28-30 day cycle (first day of last period to first day to next) but I seem to ovulate between day 14-17 and have been charted as ovulating day 24.
I have no "known" fertility problems.
I just wanted to throw out there that not everybody always ovulates the same or on day 14.
Another note my last three pregnancy's have been on months when we "took a ttc break".
Good luck I hope you catch that egg soon and have a fabulous 9 months!

The best advice.... reeeelaaaaaax!!! When I got PG with my DD we DTD every night around O time. I think it was a bit of overkill, personally

This baby wasn't conceived while actively TTC and I know we DTD around O time (within 1 day). I wouldn't stress too much about tracking time.. Know around the time you would normally ovulate and go from there.

TTC has been a part of my life since 2003. I conceived each of my children using anything from more extreme fertility treatments to randomly thinking I was ovulating, hopping in the sack, and bam being pregnant at the end of the month (shock of my life).

The last thing you want to hear is that you need to relax, but you really do.

Just try to really enjoy being with your hubby and make it more fun and less like work.

If it were me and I was serious about pregnancy, I'd start around CD10 and DTD every other night until my period came, or until I was certain I'd ovulated. Before I started trying to get pregnant I had no idea when I was ovulating or what the signs were. Now, I'm an expert and I can tell exactly when I'm going to ovulate. If you aren't already, you will be before long.
Good luck!
