  • Hi there! Update from me...

Now that we've reached cycle 20 of TTC without success, I'm taking action. Test haven't shown anything wrong with us, we're not eligible for further treatment, so I'm taking things into my own hands.

I went to an alternative bookshop and had a flick through a couple of books about natural approaches to women's health. I read through what they had to say about infertility and this is what I found out:

Infertility, if there is no obvious medical explanation, can be the result of a lack of energy. I guess this goes with the therory of "chi" or "prana" or whatever it may be called in other cultures, but something that is essentially missing in western medicine. Lack of energy can be (amongst other causes) the result of stress, anxiety, lack of exercise...

So I've decided to take up yoga again. I did it for a while a couple of years back and I remember how great I felt during that time. I had energy to spare, plus heaps more confidence and I was so much more relaxed.

So I'm going to do some every morning (still got my yoga mat) and I'm going to go to yoga classes (for inspiration and motivation) twice a week.

If it doesn't help conceiving, at least it will make me feel better.

And I'm going to consult the chinese medicine doctor. I'm not sure how they do it, but I went to one once, and she cured my chronic sinus troubles that I had for years. So I reckon it's worth a try. I'm going to take my S/O with me, maybe there's something the doctor can recommend to him.

    Thanks for listening/reading.

  • Have you read the book Inconceivable? It's a fabulous book about a woman who comes to the same realization/point in her life and made the same decision. I highly recommend it.

  • Sounds like a plan
Hope all goes well and might work, I think Eastern medicines sometimes have a leg up on Western medicine because they consider the whole being. But that is just my opinion.

  • I'm all about it, you go girl! I tried to get motivated this summer but lost my energy with dh's second bad s/a. However, he said he's ready to go to the infertility doc and I should make the appointment.
is due Monday, so if not go there, I'm making the call and we're getting started. If that doesn't work out, on to Russian adoption

I agree that sometimes eastern medicines have a leg up on western as they take your emotional and spiritual well being into account as well. Hope it does the trick for you Laluna.
Good luck with the Dr's Sandy.
