So I finally have my answer....

Based on my cycles since coming off the BCP and some other information, it has been determined that I have PCOS. So DH and I now have an answer and a plan. They took 8 vials of blood yesterday ( OUCH!!!) and I have to go back for more bloodwork on Day 3 and Day 21 and a HSG test ( some xray of my uterus or something) to confirm what they expect. AF still hasn't shown up yet so they gave me a prescription of Prometrium to bring her on, but I have to wait for the results of the PG test they did ( considering I am pretty sure it'll come back negative). So then I go back in six weeks for a follow up visit. Well actually it'll be longer than six weeks because the clinic is moving to a bigger space ( this clinic in Edmonton is so crazy busy. It's one of two clinics in Alberta, The other is in Calgary). So our follow up visit is January 3. At that time they'll go over the results and put the plan into action. The plan being to be put on Clomid and do IUI. So I am relieved to finally have an answer to all this stress. I can actually relax now and know that we actually have a chance. DH was not happy that we ( or I) have this problem but I pointed out it is better to find this out now, instead of going through 6-7 years of frustration and end up being closwer to 40 and learning this diagnosis. So now he seems to be more o.k. with it. Actually he is interested in the fact that this process increases the chances of having twins.

Since we are still in our 20's ( although the clock IS ticking) hopefully this will work in our favour. So now I am wondering how am I going to make it to January? I am anxious to get going!!!!

So I'll be lurking around here as usual.

So is there anyone here that has PCOS and has been through the Clomid and IUI? Or either one of these?

I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS but I am on clomid. I am glad you got some answers! It does make you feel better to know you are doing something to help the process, ANYTHING to help!
