  • I really want a girl this time. Dh and I have two sons.
I heard you should DTD before ovulation. So is now the best time?
Or should I wait until tommorow?

  • According to the Shettles method, OPKs are not really useful in trying for a girl. You should be trying 3-4 days before your expected ovulation. By the time you get a positive OPK, you're 12-36 hours from ovulation, prime time for boy selection.

From what I've heard, your best bet is to chart for a few months to get a sense of your typical cervical fluid and o-day patterns, then DTD on days 3 and 4 before ovulation. This will mean you're not as likely to get pregnant each month, because your peak days (those days pointed out by positive OPKs) are most likely to have the best quality cervical fluid for conception.

For more information, do an internet search on "Shettles method". There's lots of info on the web.
