  • Thanks ladies, you are all so wonderful. I'm so lucky to have such lovely people in my life.

As far as I know the surgery went as planned, am in a lot of pain though and am on lots of pain meds, am a bit spaced out and very restless (hence I'm on here).

Am very unhappy with my consultant, and we may complain. We had no communication after the surgery, he didn't come to see me and we've have had no information from him about the procedure, what to expect afterwards, self-care or anything. Without seeing me he refused to discharge me with any pain meds and over the phone suggested to the nurses that I just take

, despite the fact that the staff nurse on duty told him how much pain I was in, and how concerned they were (they've documented everything in detail).

The nurses were so great though and they did what they could. They gave me some

before I went home. They couldn't send me home with any Morphione as I'd not been prescribed it for anything other than for post-operative use in hospital, so I had to go to my GP surgery on the way home and make an appointment to get a prescription. So I've been prescribed

    and also

. Hence why I'm a bit spaced out. I go back in 4 weeks time to have the stent removed. Sorry ladies I just can't type anymore, so you'll have to excuse me. I think I've covered it all. Thanks again to you all.

  • I hope you are pain free soon.

That is horrible treatment! Physicians are supposed to treat you too, not just your kidneys!

I hope the meds give you some relief and you are better ASAP!

oh Tracey I'm so sorry about the consultant's treatment. Its awful not to get any feedback. I had a similar experience back in Nov with my back surgery. I was in extreme pain too and they were only giving me panadol until I told them in no uncertain terms to give me something stonger. I'm so glad the nurses listened to you. Rest up now and don't over do it!
