Talking Trying for our first!

Hello, everyone. I'm a newbie. As you can see from my signature, my husband and I will be TTCing for the first time toward the end of this year (anywhere from October - January) ! I am 24, he is 28, and we both work full-time, but our schedules are different so this will allow one of us to be home at all times to take care of a baby. I am also a part-time student, but when I will take online classes when our first child is born.

Anyhow, I'm glad I found this forum, and I'm excited to get to know all of you!

Thank you both! I just scheduled a GYN exam for June 21st. I've not been in 3 years.

Shh!!! It will be with the same Doc I went to the first (and only) time back when I was 21 and was on birth control. I wanted to try to get a female doctor, but there are none available within 25 miles that are covered by my insurance. It's not that I don't like him, but since this will be having a baby and not just general exams, I kind of wanted a female only because they could relate more and might be more open-minded about birthing options and such.

Speaking of, anyone here know about the costs of home birth or birthing centers vs. hospitals? I don't know how much my insurance covers outside of hospitals, and we're not rich, but I absolutely DETEST hospitals and I have several bones to pick with how most pregnant women seem to be treated in hospitals even in this century (being forced to lie down - against gravity, being seperated from the baby, nurses trying to formula-feed when it's against the parents' wishes, etc).
