Smile Update

Hi Ladies

Just wanted to say hello and post an update. It's been so long since I have been on the boards. I was feeling like I needed a break from it all. After my last IVF cycle was unsuccessful I was pretty devastated. But I'm feeling a little better now.

We saw our doctor and have decided to try a few IUI's on Clomid. He originally wanted to stay clear of this because of the increased risk of mulitple pg's. But since the IVF isn't working, we thought what do we have to lose. So I think we will try a few IUI's and then if they are unsuccessful we will try our last 3 remaining frozen embies. If that all doesn't work I don't know what we will do. Maybe try another fresh IVF cycle but that's a whole lot more $$$$. I don't know, I guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

So I am just waiting for my next cycle to start the clomid. I hear it has wonderful side effects, I can't wait.

DH and I are still waiting to move in to our new home. It keeps getting pushed back. We don't move in until July now. Oh well, nothing much we can do about it. I am looking forward to the new house. It's a good distraction. It helps to keep my mind on decorating ideas instead of all the depressing IF stuff.
I will keep you posted on the IUI/clomid cycles ahead.

Thanks for listening everyone,
Take Care

Nice to see an update from you Mary-Ellen!

Not everyone has bad side-effects from Clomid. I don't think I had any at all. DH says I was pretty cranky during PMS, but honestly that was probably just as much from the stress of still being IF after so long as from the clomid itself. I hope it'll work out the same way for you and that it will help you get your little miracle

Hi Mary-Ellen - have they given you a reason why they havn't worked? Have the blasts been good quality? Have the fertilisation percentages been good?

The house move sounds exciting, and the perfect distraction! Nothing like moving house for everything else to take a back seat! (((hugz)))

Thanks Cat and Tracey for your support and hugs

My

said that our embies were beautiful and that we have no problems at all with our fertilization. So he is confused at why they have not worked. He said he thought we would be pg by now. So I guess there may be a problem with implanting but the hysteroscope showed a normal endometrial lining. I recently had a whole bunch more blood work and all my hormone levels were normal. My prolactin level is also within normal range since being on Parlodel.
So I'm just hoping my diagnosis of "bicornuate Uterus" was not an error. Because if it is actually a septate U. then that would explain why they are not implanting. But he firmly believes it is a Bicornuate uterus. So I guess I just keep trying. I trust him he is a good doctor with years of experience.
I will keep you posted.

Take care

Mary-Ellen

Good luck with the clomid & IUI's I really hope they do the trick for you Mary-Ellen! I hope the side-effects aren't too bad for you.

Hope the moving goes well and is in July - moving house really can be a great distraction.
