Clomid Users?

I was wondering when most of you take clomid days 3-7 or 5-9. I thought I remember reading the earlier seems to produce more follies and the later a more mature follie.

Also, did you do a limited number of cycles with clomid then either move on to something else or take a break and start back up again?

I am trying for baby number 2 at 43 and FSH is 9 so not bad. I have tried 3 cycles at 100mg...and wondering if ovaries need a break.

Thanks for your thoughts

Vicki

Vicki...

usually with the clomid the doctor will let you go for about six months and than they will want you to change your routine or even a break from the clomid as it can produce cysts.. As for your days that you take it that is up to you are your doctor..A lot of it depends on where you are ovulating..hope this helps

I took it from days 5-9, but I've heard from days 3-7 too.
The problem I know about that it can cause, because it did for me, is poor CM. Some dr.s add other things (like mine added dexamethazone) to help it work better. I took it for a few months but what ultimately got me pg was injectible meds. Good luck.

I took it cd5-9, 50mg. I had the cm problem too. I only took it the 2 months the first time around, I got pg the 2nd month on it, but it was prescribed for 3 with the 3rd month being 100mg. I heard that cd5-9 gives you better follicles, cd3-7 gives you more of them.
Good luck to you!!!!

I took it days 3-7 - 100mg, but then that was for IUI, for subsequent IUI's I took Tamoxifen on days 3-7 I agree, no longer than 6 months (3 if you're over 35) as after this time it starts to have a detrimental affect on CM quality and your specialist should be thinking about moving you on to something else.

Good luck :shamrock:
