Well actually people with
PCOS usually do have fertility problems. BUT they can be overcome. I have severe
PCOS I am now
pg with my third. I would do things WAY different
if I knew what I knew now back then.
I went through months and months of Clomid, fertility treatments, surgery, Metformin. Finally I conceived my first. I did the same for my second. I was so obcessed with becoming a mom, and so depressed and it was horrilbe emotionally. Well my
pg's werent that great either and there were lots of complications but I have 2 wonderful healthy lovely children to show for it, so it was soooo worth it.
Well now for this time around. Last year I had a
lap band surgery. I lost 60 pounds. I feel great! I started ovulating on my own, with no clomid, metformin or any other fertility treatments, and I am now
pg with my 3rd. So far I feel great, but it is too early to tell how this will all play out.
You can do this and your
dh and you can overcome
PCOS and have a family. My only regret is that I didnt take my own health seriously enough to get my butt in gear and lose weight years ago. I would encourage you that
if you are overweight, ( I still need to lose another 40 pounds or so too) that you take 9-mo to a year and focus on losing some weight and then get
pg. It may work it may not. But it certainly will make you feel so much better and improve the
PCOS. It will also help the fertility meds to work better. Of course you may not be overweight at all as some
PCOS have normal weight.
Losing weight is very very very difficult usually for those with
PCOS. Metformin is a great drug to help assist that, as it helps the body use the insulin more wisely. Some people lose quite well just from that.
Good luck to you and I am so sorry that you have this terrible disease. I hope you are holding that baby in your arms very very very soon.
