Hi! I'm so sorry your having to deal with this. No fun at all. I also have a 10 lp. For me, our fertility doctor didn't think it was a problem. However, that was after blood work, as well as some other fertility testing.
After a year and a half, it's time to go get some medical help. I agree, skip the obgyn if you can, and go to a RE. I promise it will save your time and money.
I think this summer I will get into a fertility doc. I too didn't want to deal with all of this - wanted it to just happen naturally like everyone I know!
When I first started charted (20 charts ago), I had a 9 or 10 day LP. I gave up coffee (it nearly killed me, but I did it) and started taking Vit. B, and now I have a LP of 12 or 13 days. Yay! I still think the advice to see a specialist is good, but where I am getting in to see one can take months. In the mean time you might be able to help yourself along.
Hello. I am 32 and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for just over a year and half now! I am getting depressed since everyone I know is pregnant or has children but me. WTH?
Prior to TTC, I was on the pill for years. I have roughly a 21-22 day cycle (never miss or late) but I think I ovulate late. I have just started to track my O with test sticks and looks like I'm at less than 10 days before the start of the next AF. I havne't read many stories with women having my short cycle and LPD. I'm going to start with some B6 to see if that helps my O. Anyone know anything on this?
Thanks,
Shelley
Shelly,
I don't agree with the other saying "GO FOR F.I.V." !!!
I am sure your biggest problem is that you are stressed because you are not pregnant yet !! and that every month, whne you get your perionds, you are even more stressed because it is another month you are not pregnant...
I was exactly like you, that's why I know ...
I came across a manual that was showed me what I was doing wrong and what I needed to do to get pregnant ... naturally.
Have a look at it, it is at infertility-2-fertility.co.uk and let me know later on this year when you are pregnant To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Stress can affect when you ovulate, making you ovulate either early or late, but it doesn't generally affect your luteal phase. I'd recommend reading Toni Weschler's Taking Charge of Your Fertility, if you haven't already, and charting so that you can tell when you are ovulating. I actually only used OPKs once when I was ttc, and I found that they just confirmed what I already knew from charting my cycles. TCOYF also has some natural suggestions for dealing with short luteal phases, including taking B-6, eliminating caffeine, and making some dietary changes. But I'd also recommend seeing a specialist.
I avoiding seeing my doctor, even though I was overdue for my annual exam, because I was scared of being told bad news. That was a mistake. When I did see her, she realized that my thyroid was enlarged, ordered some tests, diagnosed me with hypothyroidism and got me on meds for that, and a few months later I got pregnant. I now wish I'd seen her earlier.
