DH is Jim... we were married in 1998.

I went off BC in Nov. 1999. We started actively(timed perfectly) TTC in June 2000. We FINALLY got pg in October of 2001. That lasted 3 months. I had a missed m/c and baby never made it past the 7.5 week point.

Back to the drawing board. We started ttc again once AF showed up. We tried for a while on our own.. Dr. prescribed clomid, did and HSG and ran loads off bloodwork. DH was tested and all looked OK. After a few months of clomid going to progressively higher doses she referred me to a RE. At our 1st appt. (Dec. 6, 2002) He got my history and suggested a LAP, HSG and another hyster test (can't remember the name

) That was scheduled for January 3, 2003. He found a small amount of endo and polyp on my cervix. all was removed everything was clear. He was a very aggressive Dr. so he suuggested IUI immediately.

He put me on Clomid and had me do the shot to release my eggs on the 14th day of my cycle(saturday). we went in the following 2 days for insemination. After I o'd he had me on progesterone. And a couple weeks later.. BAM!! pg..

That was my pg with Aedan.. We tried for approx. 6 months for Chloe and got pg on my own.. I was worried so I went to the Dr. to check things out..,he did a u/s and said .. You better get home and get busy because you are about to o.. that's all I needed.. A couple weeks later.. BFP.

well I feel weird for even typing this but whatever the outcome I did become pg after 11years so here goes...Aug 96 I came off BCP and we started ttc'ing (not vigorously but with enough knowledge to dtd during fertile time) I had a adhesions removed from my bowel in Nov 96 and my surgeon said he would check "down below" while he was removing the adhesions. He told me to go to a gynae cause he felt I'd have some problems. It took me til 2001 to go to a gynae (complete denial). Lap was done and endo was found and removed. I was put on decapeptyl injections (similar to lupron) which brought on a temporary menopause which lasted around six months just to give my body a rest. A follow up Lap revealed endo had gone and I was put on clomid for 3 months. After that I put on a higher dose but nothing happened. We decided to leave things for a bit because I was so stressed from everything. In 2004 I went back with endo symptoms and a further Lap revealed it was back and they removed it. More clomid given and again nothing happened and gynae basically said that we wouldn't get pg naturally so to try IVF. We discussed it but we just didn't feel that we wanted to do it. Friends had done it and it had ended with the death of their twins so I couldn't face that stress and worry. We then just went on with our lives not really paying attention to having a baby just accepting it wasn't going to happen for us. We tentatively discussed adoption and this year we put in our application for inter country adoption. That went in in April and we were/are looking at a 4 year wait minimum. Anyway went on holiday to spain in June and came home. AF due early July she didn't show up. My cycle had gone wobbly over the last few months so I waited until the last possible day that she should arrive and then started wondering. I fell asleep at work during my lunch that week which made me wonder and I was very sick too. I suffer with my back and it had flared up again but I decided not to take any meds just in case. DH made me do a test just so it would convince me to take my meds such was his belief that it couldn't possibly be a positive test. Took the test and to my utter shock horror and amazement it was positive. We are both still in shock and very very nervous. I'm just 18 wks now and due on Paddy's weekend (very apt for being Irish

Gosh...I used to be a part of this board for so long with alot of ladies on here. The success stories are what kept me going during the 4 years. I went off the BCP in September 2001. After a year of trying with no success, I went to my OB/GYN to see what was going on and was finally referred to a specialist. We tried it all through the years -- all the tests, surgeries to remove the endo, clomid, letrozole, 6 IUI's with injectables all without any success. August 2005 we decided to move forward with IVF and completed a 2 embryo transfer on Labour Day weekend. I got very sick with ovarian hyperstimulation sydrome and got the good news that I was pregnant after our first try. At 5 weeks, we were told it was twins and at 8 weeks we saw 2 heartbeats. I truly feel very blessed with Noah & Sophia.

Wishing all the ladies the best of luck!

well here goes long story -short.......

had one pg with ex boyfriend in 1999, ended in m/c at 8weeks....went into depression, bad....ex boyfriend -i call him satan

anyway, met dh, Michael, married 2001, had not been on bc pill since 1998! so i thought, oh, i will get pg right away....WRONG!

so after 8 IUI's, clomid, dtd everytime i didn't want to!

and 3 years of trying-nothing. and many tests, nothing technically wrong with either one of us....sa was fine, although i did end up with PCOS.

so we decided on adoption because IVF would cost us 12,000 per cycle (our insurance iddn't cover it)
so if we had to take out a loan to become parents i wanted a baby, i could live without the pg!
so for many reasons we chose CHINA.....i didn't need a baby that looked like me! i just wanted to be a mom!
and we started the year long paperwork, went to china, decided to do it again! THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they couldn't be any more mine if i gave birth.

I met DP in 1999 and in 2001 we decided to embark on parenthood. We initially looked into adoption and talked with some friends who told us that it cost them $30,000. We could have found the money somewhere, but decided since my insurance paid for IUI's that we would buy one vial of sperm, get inseminated, and be moms. We figured the most it would cost us is about $2,000 for the one IUI (that was SO SURE to work) HA! Talk about being naive!!

So, we did 5 IUI's (the last 2 were with gonal f) and I did get pg on my 3rd IUI (1st gonal f cycle) that resulted in an ectopic. We trudged on and then decided that since my insurance now covered 70% of IVF we would do that. Of course, we thought the first one would work. Why wouldn't it? The first one did work and I was pg for 7 weeks and 1 day before they determined that the baby stopped growing very early (probably around the 4 or 5 week mark) and gave me shots of methotrexate (and thankfully avoided a D&C). All in all we did 3 fresh cycles and 3 frozen cycles. The last fresh cycle ended in a chemical. DP then heard a commercial for fost/adopt, we looked into it, went forward with the process (foster license/homestudy) and Shaye was placed in our arms 9 months after we went to that original orientation in Dec. 2004. Naia came to us through fost/adopt in Dec. 2005. Then in the summer of 2006 we found out Shaye's birthmom was pg again. The county called us about Laela in Dec. 2006 and now we have three beautiful little girls. I know every single day why IUI/IVF didn't work for me and I wouldn't change a thing! We still have 7 embies and we may try 2 more FET's in the next year or two. I honestly never wanted to be pg, but got caught up in the fertility slot machine game. Now having 3 babies under 3 I'm really not diggin' on the idea of being pg, so maybe we'll let DP's uterus give it a whirl.
