I would never expect a hawk to do that while a human was standing by!

I might think that could happen when they're outside alone... but I wouldn't think it when they were near their owner. The hawk must have been really hungry I guess!
How awful for the owner... and the other poor doggie left behind too!! I bet they're BOTH very sad about it.

My brothers (former) girlfriend has a chuiwawa (I don't know how to spell that

). One time when he was dog-sitting he had the dog outside "watching" him & his friends pass the football around. He said a hawk started circling above the dog.
He moved the dog to under a tree & tied the leash to it!! That dog was pretty overweight, so I don't know if the hawk could have actually taken it.

Like I tell my kids "Wild animals can't go grocery shopping or to McDonalds... they have to eat what's available." Unfortunately, for that dog owner.... the dog was available.

That poor doggie! We live on a military base very country like! Coming home last night we seen 3 good size bucks 3 houses down in the front yard near a main road! We have lots of jack rabbits, deer and coyotes.Just the other day me and my dh were standing in our back yard about 100 ft from my ds school and seen a coyote running through like noone was around. The same day we seen a turkey vulture circling the house after we heard our big dogs barking. We kept are two little dogs inside,yorkie/min pin mix and pekgenies. Not even our big dogs barking scared it! Wild animals are ruthless now a days.I just feel so bad for the poor dog!
