My kids have slept over my moms house... and that's it.
They've spent most of the day at a couple different aunts houses... but they've only stayed overnight with Grammy.

There's certainly no rule that says your kids MUST sleep over someone elses house by X age?!?!

I don't think there's anything wrong with a sleepover if the circumstances are right... even just for FUN, I see nothing wrong with them...
But I also don't see anything wrong with not having sleepovers for your kids either.
It's all about what you & your kids are comfortable with.

the only place michael has slept over is his dad's house. and that didnt happen until a year after we split.

i dont feel comfortable yet with either of my kids sleeping anywhere but home with me. i know if i were to let michael sleep at a friends, i would get a 2am phone call from him crying and saying he wants to come home.

My sister & a few other people are surprised we've never gone away without the kids but I don't want to leave them with anybody so its not happening any time soon. I can understand the appeal of a vacation without kids, but since we go away so rarely I'd rather let them come and have fun too!

My DD has slept at her grandparents for a few nights here and there. They live over an hour away so they like to keep her a night or two if she wants to stay. We don't have any other babysitter so when she wants to go there we take advantage and go out ourselves for a night. I miss her terribly, but she has a great time and they take her to the zoo, museum, kids places.

It first happened when I had to go back home for a funeral and I decided that taking her with me wouldn't work out so my inlaws came here and stayed for a few days while DH worked. We worked it out slowly and now they enjoy their time together. I think she's gone 5 times now.

My DS will be 11 in DEC and hes is sleeping over at a friends house for the very 1st time this w/e.
