Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

Although this condition is usually associated with repetitive tasks over time, it is also common in pregnancy. During pregnancy, many women experience this pain, tingling or numbness in their thumb, index finger and ring finger. The symptoms may also radiate through the hand, wrist, and up your arm.
Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is caused when the carpel tunnel that the nerves to the fingers runs through becomes swollen. The pressure results in the tingling, burning or pain. Some women get relief by making sure they drink enough water (thus reducing water retention that can increase the swelling), taking vitamin b6, or wearing a wrist splint.
If the sensations interfere with your day to day activities, make sure you talk to your doctor about it. Often the symptoms will disappear after the baby is born.
