Vaginal Discharge
A thin, milky, mild smelling discharge is very normal throughout pregnancy. Called leukorrhea, it is much like the discharge many women have right before their period. It can become quite heavy, and many women opt to wear a panty liner or sanitary pad during the last months or pregnancy (never use a tampon).
If you have a discharge that is yellowish, greenish, or thick and cheesy, has a foul odor, or is accompanied by itching or burning, it is likely that you have an infection (vaginitis). Although treatment may get rid of the infection, it may reoccur until after the baby is born. These infections, while unpleasant, don't pose a risk to your baby.

If your vaginitis is a yeast infection, it is important to have the infection treated so you don't pass it along to your baby during delivery in the form of thrush (yeast infection of the mouth).
Always check with your doctor for diagnosis and treatment of any unusual vaginal discharge.
