I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and i have a 2 year old son and a 10 month old baby girl still breastfeeding everything went well but we just had a big holiday with our two kids and early this morning i had bleeding, i saw the gp and said i should stop breastfeeding immediately. is this necessarily?

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and nursing a 10 month old. my doctor had told me i should wean my baby. i'm still nursing and my nipples have been sore at the beginning of a nursing session but them it stops hurting. i have had some ultrasounds and my baby looks perfectly healthy. it was nice to read this article so i don't have to worry.

Some moms, myself included, have noticed a trend to miscarry very early on in the pregnancy when breastfeeding due to insufficient hormone production (most likely as a result of the presence of prolactin). low progesterone is not uncommon in early pregnancies of nursing moms. i was all set to tandem nurse until i hit this little snafoo - i had to search to find that information too, it isn't widely known or recognized.

My doctor has said that the hormones from breastfeeding will affect my unborn child if it is a boy and i have to wean my 7 month old immediately. has anyone every heard of this?

Ok, it is safe to continue nursing while pregnant but what will happen when the next baby is born? would the quality and quantity of milk would be efficient for both a toddler and the newborn? i am a medical student and my pbl reading brought me to this page. have you thought of the impact of weaning on the toddler if you wean him at time of birth or pre-delivery? i really appritiate it if a medical doctor would address me on this issue.

Just wanted to share that i nursed my first son while i was pregnant with my second with no problems. my son weaned himself at 14 months and i was just entering my second trimester. have to admit i was relieved as i was overwhelmed by just the thought of nursing two!

I was having sleepless nights. my daughter is only 10 months and having stomach problems. i am 4 weeks pregnant and i was of the impression that my milk was like poison to her. but now my mind is at rest knowing that it really doesn't have any harm to breastfeed while pregnant.

Thank you for this information! i am 8 weeks pregnant and still feeding my 15 month old daughter. i have been scared that i may be experiencing a miscarriage, but some of your info suggests that it could be because i am still bfing, i'm off to my dr tomorrow still to double check and make sure we are all ok! but i feel much more at ease from what i have read.

Im glad i can still breastfeed, my son is 4 1/2 mos and i just found out im preggers maybe 5 or 6 weeks. one thing that triggered me to take a test was how my son was reacting to feeding, like he didnt like it anymore, i hope that passes, today i had to give him a bottle for the first time. luckily i have a huge stash of milk in my freezer :)

Thank you for this helpful article. i'm about 6 weeks along and haven't gotten in to the dr. yet. my 10 month old is still nursing and i wanted to make sure it was safe. plus i'm suffering from severely sore nipples. nice to know it may get better after the 1st trimester! i'll also try drinking more and relaxation techniques. thanks again!
