Recall: Mattress Pads
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of product: Mattress Pad
Units: About 2,900
Manufacturer: Chris Arlotta Enterprises Ltd., of New York, N.Y.
Hazard: These mattress pads fail to meet the federal mandatory standard for flammability under the Flammable Fabrics Act. They pose a serious risk of burn injury or death to consumers if exposed to smoldering or burning cigarettes.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recalled mattress pads are natural colored, made of 100 percent cotton Chenille, and were sold in twin, full, queen, king and California king. The Web and catalog retailers and the mattress pads’ model numbers, listed below, are identified on the packaging:
