Menstrual Cycle Day 21

What is happening internally?

The corpus luteum continues to release high amounts of progesterone to maintain the uterine lining. If conception occurred - the blastocyst finds a place in the thick uterine lining to implant. It burrows deep into the lining and grows at a rapid rate. Implantation signals the corpus luteum to stay alive and continue producing progesterone. Trace amounts of hCG are being released from the implanted fertilized egg.

Outward symptoms:

Basal body temperatures remain high above the coverline. Cervix is low, firm and closed. Cervical fluid is dry. You may experience bloating or water retention. As a result of implantation of the fertilized egg, you may experience mild cramping and/or a bit of spotting.

First, congrats on trying! set aside current trying for pregnancy and deal with the menopause fear. check your mother's, aunt's and grandmother's entry into menopause time. are these their initial symptoms? are you early? and get your worrying out of the way. second, consider seeing your doctor. you could have uterine tumors - that's serious, so let a doctor rule out dangerous things. then, keep trying! even of you are entering the unpredictable menopausal zone - you're probably still ovulating here and there and you've even got a better chance for twins!
