The corpus luteum continues to release high amounts of progesterone to maintain the uterine lining. If conception occurred the blastocyst, now referred to as a zygote, will increase in size 40 times within this first month. The amounts of hCG are climbing.
Outward symptoms:
Basal body temperatures remain high above the coverline. If conception occurred - you may see a third thermal shift known as triphasic. This is due to the extra progesterone being released to maintain the tuerine lining. Cervix is low, firm and closed. Cervical fluid is dry or it may become creamy or sticky. You may experience bloating or water retention.
