Menstrual Cycle Day 27
5 CommentsWhat is happening internally?
The corpus luteum continues to release high amounts of progesterone to maintain the uterine lining. The zygote (fertilized egg) is increasing in size and growing larger every day. The amounts of hCG are increasing, and may be high enough to result in a positive pregnancy test. If conception did not occur, the amount of progesterone being released begins to drop due to the corpus luteum dying. The lining may begin to slough off.

If conception did not occur your basal body temperature may be dropping down due to the corpus luteum dying. Cervical fluid may be creamy to watery. You may have water retention, headache, moodiness, spotting and cramps.
