Menstrual Cycle Day 29
3 CommentsWhat is happening internally?
The corpus luteum continues to release high amounts of progesterone to maintain the uterine lining until the placenta takes over. The zygote (fertilized egg) is increasing in size and growing larger every day. The amounts of hCG are increasing, and are definitely high enough to result in a positive pregnancy test. If conception did not occur, the amount of progesterone being released drops off due to the corpus luteum dying. The lining may begin to slough off.
Outward symptoms:

If conception did not occur your basal body temperature may be dropping down due to the corpus luteum dying. Cervical fluid may be creamy to watery and tan in color. You may have water retention, headache, moodiness, spotting and cramps. You may have bleeding start making this day 1 of a new cycle.
