Implantation
Implantation
Implantation typically occurs 6 to 10 days after ovulation, or day 20 to 24 of a menstrual cycle. However, it can happen a few days earlier or later. In an average, 28-day cycle, ovulation occurs on day 14 (the first day of a period is considered day 1 in a cycle). Once fertilization occurs, the egg stays in the fallopian tube for 3 days before entering the uterus and begins to implant to the uterine lining.
Implantation is usually a quite gentle process, with very few symptoms that can be felt or noticed. Most symptoms are usually detected or diagnosed as implantation once a pregnancy has been confirmed; that is, once you realize you’re pregnant, certain symptoms you might have noticed a few days prior will match up to those common to implantation.
That said, following are some typical signs of implantation.
- A very small amount of spotting or implantation bleeding may occur for a short period of time, around 7 to 10 days after ovulation has taken place.
- If you are tracking your basal body temperature daily, you may notice a second thermal shift (rise in temperature) that occurs about 7 to 10 days past the date that ovulation has been confirmed.
- You may also notice an implantation temperature dip that lasts for a single day, usually around 7 to 10 days past ovulation.
While these signs can be a promising indicator that fertilization and implantation have taken place, they are not confirmation.

Just because you may have felt some of these symptoms, you may not necessarily be pregnant. Only a positive pregnancy test or a blood test performed by your doctor can confirm that pregnancy has occurred. On the other hand, don’t despair if you haven’t felt or noticed any of these signs of implantation. Very few women actually notice implantation, and not feeling implantation does not mean that you are not pregnant. If you think you might be pregnant, be sure to make an appointment with your doctor to confirm a pregnancy.

Ok about a week ago i had a good bit of spotting of light Red discharge for a week ( 23Sep ) and i had a spot of brown discharge i hope iam because i want a son really bad me and my husband could someone tell me something my period is expected on the 4 Oct.

I havent felt this symptom before. My period is supposed to come on oct 5, today is 9/22 and i had light pink spotting since 10am. I've been trying to get pregnant, i hope I am pregnant. I dont have hopes up yet, but I will be seeing my doctor on Friday...tell me what you think...thanks

My husband and i got pregnant a few years back that leaded to a miscarriage. We really tried hard this month I am at day 17 of the cycle and i am praying something gives, We have a appt. on the 22nd to start clomid treatments. Hoping it "just" happens this month. We will see.

Hi well my last time having unprotected sex was 7/1 and af was due 7/13 but didnt arrive, now its day 34 and i woke up wit bad cramps and little light pink blood when i wiped..could i b preg??

Ive had intercourse almost everyday this month, and now its day 32 and I'm having some slight bleeding, maybe spotting. Idk an i have small amounts of cramps. Ive taken test they all say no... what do you think?

Me and my boyfriend have done it unprotected like 4 or 5 times i wasn't ovulating i don't think because my periods are wrong all the time and i haven't had one since nov but after maybe 2 weeks of doing it unprotected im having light brown-pink discharge nothing like a period could this be the real deal?

I am now 5 days late on my period. Today I've got some brown discharge. I usually get that before a period, the only thing is I have always tracked my cycles and NEVER NEVER NEVER been this late before. I've had nausea, back pain, frequent urination, irritabiliy, and tingles in my tummy, along with small cramping. If this turns out being my period instead of implantation bleeding, I'll be quite upset about not being able to trust what my body is telling me. :(

I think I am in the same boat as you:) I am waiting until the week of the 15th to take another pregnancy test to detect levels of HCG. But, until then I have been taking my vitamins and trying to eliminate caffeine. Good Luck!

Me and my husband just got married November 8th and we stopped taking the pill the day of our wedding. I dont know much about being or becoming pregnant, I thought you were most fertile before you start your period, a few days ago I read the right time. I started my period the 13th after the wedding. I was most fertile nov 24-29th and we concieved the 25th. At first I was really sleepy and had lots of headaches. Now I still get sleepy esspecially after I eat, I have lower cramps, not as bad as period cramps and they are lower than period cramps feels like pressure. I took a pregnancy test last night and it tested negative, maybe too early? Anyone have any thoughts on all this?
