Bugaboo Recalls Chameleon3 StrollersKatlyn Joy | 1, April 2013
Bugaboo has issued a recall of nearly 10,000 Cameleon3 Strollers in the US and Canada on March 27, 2013. The strollers pose a fall hazard as the handle can break and detach. There have been 16 reports of carry handles breaking, however, no injuries have been reported.
Those with the recalled strollers are instructed by the company and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission to remove the carry handle on the stroller seat or bassinet of the affected strollers immediately and contact Bugaboo for a free replacement handle. The stroller can be used as a seat or bassinet as long as attached to the chassis, but you should not attempt to use the seat or bassinet separate from the chassis.
The recalled strollers were sold for 9 to 00 at Buy Buy Baby, Toys R Us, bugaboo.com, and retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. The recalled stroller model has a tag on the side of the sun canopy that says "bugaboo," and "cameleon3."
The strollers were sold between September 2012 and March 2013. Strollers included in the recall will have serial numbers between 19010 11153 00001 and 19010 51248 00215. Serial numbers can be found on the chassis beneath the seat of the stroller.
For more information, or to receive a free replacement handle, consumers can call the company at 800-460-2922 from 7 am to 4 pm Pacific time or go to www.bugaboo.com.
