10 DIY Baby Shower Favors You Can MakeKatlyn Joy | 4, January 2014
Why buy store made and generic baby shower favors when for little cost and time you can hand make your own special favors for the shower.
Baby bottle milk chocolates.
Purchase inexpensive plastic baby bottles and fill with milk, well... milk chocolate, that is. Purchase small chocolates for this purpose. Label with the date of the party and the name of the honored guest with a sparkly permanent marker.
Decorate baby shoes with metallic pens, sequins and gems. Place the name and date on the sole of the shoes. Line them with tissue paper and place some small spa gifts such as special foot massage cream, a pumice stone, and nail polish for instance.
Baby food jars.
Paint the lids to match the shower theme and decorate with ribbon. Inside, fill with sweet treats. Make a paper label on your computer or by hand, matching the theme and providing the guest of honor's name and the date of the shower.
Scour department or dollar stores looking for a miniature "tub," to hold bath themed goodies. Decorate the outside of the tub with rubber ducky stickers and with the words, "Thank you!" Inside place bath items, such as cute shaped soaps, ducks of course work perfectly. Other items could include trial sized lotions, bath gels, bubble bath or bath bombs.
Baby in a basket.
Purchase some small wicker style baskets, a pair of white, off white or tan or brown aloe infused socks, a tennis ball, and baby shower themed or color coordinated burp rags or bibs. Put a sock over the tennis ball and with a washable marker lightly draw on dots for eyes and nose, and a tiny mouth for a baby's face. Wrap the tennis ball head up along with gift items to fill the baby's body, inside the burp rag or bib. Place inside the basket. Attach a tag with the shower information.
Teddy bear baskets.
Place a small teddy bear in a basket and make a little cloth diaper to pin on him. Fill the basket with teddy bear shaped treats from the candy store, or make your own.
Baby wipe holders.
Save old wipe plastic boxes and remove labels. Make a new one with the date of the shower and guest's name. Use the shower's theme in the decoration of the wipe box. Fill with body scrub, loofah, and lotions to keep skin soft as a baby's bottom.
Paint square boxes to resemble alphabet blocks. Attach a tag with the date of the party and the guest of honor's photo. Inside the box place tasty treats.
Place sweet lavender scented sachet balls inside baby socks and create the baby's head by putting a rubber band around the top round section. Draw on a sleeping baby's face. Make a tiny felt baby bonnet. Wrap a little burp rag around the baby as a blanket. Place inside a basket and fill with sleepy time gifts such as lavender spray, chamomile tea, a sleep mask and such items. Attach a tag that says, "Sleep like a baby!" and include the guest's name and date of the shower.
Tie together a set of baby booties.
Fill with yummy tiny treats and decorate with the guest of honors name.
A decorative box.
Cover with matching theme paper and fill with tissue paper. Place inside the box a small photo frame, a journal in a shade matching the shower theme, and some scrapbooking stickers, pens and decorative items.
For a baby boy shower, find a very small tool box.
Fill with a couple small tools, like a screwdriver, a tape measure and such. Fill the rest of the space with blue decorated goodies like blue iced cupcakes or cake pops.
