What sort advice are looking for Heidi? How to cope? It really depends on your personality. I went back to work no problem, but of course has lots of photos at my desk & called my parents many times a week to check on dd. I went back to work at 8 weeks, so I can see how being home with your baby for 5 months may cause a little more seperation anxiety on your end! Now I hardly call at all, sometimes once a week. My supervisor on the other hand, who seemed like such a career driven woman to me, couldn't take being away from her newborn & resigned to become a stay at home mom.

I think the hardest part for me (back in the day) was leaving them with strangers.I mean they were people I trusted but still it wasn't family.
I think it would be a different story (for me) if it was dh at home with the kids.
Again thats just me. I can't believe your little lady is 5 months already!
Good luck on your first day back!

Thanks guys! I am not worried about her being with DH...he is so good with her, so I think it is just more about the transition than anything (he is actually a better housekeeper than I am, if you can belive it!). I know I will miss them dearlly, but luckily I am a teacher and have great hours, all weekends and holidays off, and lots of vacation time.
