yeah, I think that enforcing the non-publicness of it, yet with an attitude of acceptance. Don't want to make the kid grow up with issues.

My hubby is still fascinated with his! Our kids dont wear so many clothes in the house in the summer (very hot, no ac) so it can be even more of a temptation for them! Fine unless the vicar has popped by.

I think its pretty normal but they must be told that its not acceptable public behaviour.

It is very normal. When ds was little it seemed he had his hand glued to his privates. We had the talk with him to not to it in public and that funtions of it are normal.
He stayed the night with grandma one night and she told him if he didn't leave it alone it would fall off! And she would have to sew it back on! She also told him that grandpa had to have his sewn on a couple time.(rofl).....Didn't phase him a bit....but he did grow out of it...thank goodness.
