Default dr appt

I had to take Jake to the Dr this morning because his eye has been running. It was this yellow goopy stuff. The pediatrician said his tear ducts are backed up and gave us some drops. He said it would correct itself probably in a couple of weeks and is very common in newborns. They weighed him and said he is now 8 pds 7 oz but they had his clothes on and said without the clothes he is at least 8 pds. Dr was very pleased with the weight gain and I feel better knowing he is gaining so well. He will be 3 weeks Sunday and was only 6 pds 12 oz when he was born so he is gaining very nicely! Wish me luck with the drops!!!

I had to take Ty in on Wed for the same thing, and it was his tear ducts too, I have to massage them 3 times a day and we used the medicine a few times just til it cleared. He is 3 weeks today and also weighed 8 lbs 7 oz @ his appt and was 7lbs 3 oz at birth. Don't you feel so much better knowing that they're gaining so quickly? But @ the same time, they won't be little long

I am glad that he is gaining weight so well but I realize too that this stage passes so quickly. He did NOT like the drops. DH had to pry his eye open and I dropped it in.
