  • This is probably a dumb question, but here goes...

Can I carry powdered formula past the checkpoint at the airport? I know you;re allowed a certain amount of liquid, but it didn't say anything about powders being off-limits.

  • Ok, from what I understand the formula in bottles have to be premixed(no water bottles) but can be any size. I did not find any restrictions on cans of formula. To be safe I'd pack an extra in your checked suitcase to make sure you have some at your destination in case they confiscate what you take in the diaper bag besides the bottles.
Also check out the TSA website. There should be a link through your airline website.
Thank you lauralkemp!

  • Yes, I looked. I'm not worried about the water. I can get as much as I want past the security checkpoint and mix up bottles that way. I'm just worried about the powder itself. DH said the same thing you did--- I'm just going to take the free giveaway can with me onboard, since I actually plan to nurse anyway.

  • No worries Jeanne! They are very leasy on people with babies. The powdered formula is fine and most will even let you have an unopened bottle of water or already made formula in a bottle for a baby too. Have fun!
Thank you MrsPook!

It says nothing here about powdered formula. We shall see!
