There's no reason to give up the many benefits of BF and go totally over to formula. If you have to supplement then you have to, but you can still BF

    Good luck
    with the weight gain!

  • Thanks.

I thought about it last night, and I am just not ready to give up nursing.

  • Hang in there, ITA with Amanda, I had a friend who continued to breastfeed and her baby was not gaining, he actually at almost 1 month old was the same weight as birth, the dr let it go way too long, but once she started supplementing the baby did great and he got the benefits still of breastmilk. Everyone's milk is different, but it still has those antibodies he needs, supplementing while continuing to breastfeed would give him the benefits of your milk and the weight he needs from the formula.
