  • What SPF do you use?

Does anyone know if using anything above 30 is useless?
I'm asking because the kids' ped once told me it was. It's bugged me ever since, but I have yet to find proof.

I use 45 on the kids and 50 on my face.

  • actually, anything over 15 is useless

I use 15 or above on the kids, and I usually use either 8 or 15 on me.

  • I don't use anything everyday. When I go to the lake or something both me and mariah use the waterbabies 45 or 50. Can't remember what it is

  • I should add that the reasoning is...
you are supposed to reapply the sunscreen before it become ineffective, thus, if it's a 30, it doesn't matter because you should have reapplied LONG before it wasn't working anymore.

Here's an article that says 30 and above is useless
    which is actually pretty comprehensive.

I'll look and see if I can find the articles that speak of the 'over 15' being as good as a 30.
