  • We have a huge freezer. We stock up on frozen veggies and pizza when they are on sale, or when the meat dep is having a sale we stock up on some things. Also, when dh goes deer hunting, we put that meat out there. And in summer, before we are going to have a "party" or other get together, we freeze a bunch of ice and put it out there to store so we can have it for drinks or in coolers.

We got the freezer for free and it has REALLY paid off! (Except the one time when we were gone for a week and BIL accidentally pulled the plug and didn't realize it! THAT was nasty!)

  • That is really good, every penny counts.

We don't drink a lot of milk but we do save by drinking Lactaid/Silk because it lasts so much longer than regular milk.

  • I tried freezing milk before and my entire family said it was nasty and poured it out.

I don't drink it so I have to go with what they tell me.

We have 2 refrigerators and 1 freezer. I could not live without any of them. The 2 fridges are in the house, one in the kitchen and one in our laundry room for spare drinks, extra juice, cokes, wine, milk and fruit. Then that freezer is used for things like stocking up on hotdogs, sausage and things like quick meals - pot pies, french fries etc. Our freezer is out in the garage and it's stocked with deer meat (free woohoo) , meats bought in bulk and repackaged from Sam's , ice cream on sale, and things I make up such as sauces, stews, casseroles etc. Being that I work full time this is the best investment we've ever made it makes life so much easier to be able to pull out something frozen instead of eating fast food.
