  • I know we've discussed this before but...

If you're giving cash, how much do you give as a wedding gift? Does it make a difference if the wedding is far out of town? Does how well you know the person factor in? Or your current relationship with the bride/groom?

How much do you give and how do you determine that amount?

  • I generally spend around $50 on wedding gifts unless it is someoen I am really close to like a sibling or niece.

  • If I am able to attend i try and find out where they are going on their honeymoon and get them a pocket guide, as well. I think it's a little more personal then just cash. If I can't attend I do a gift card for where they are registered.
But regardless, I don't like sending cash/checks in the mail.

  • we're very generous with gifts for weddings. we always give $300. figure the first hundred covers the cost of our meals, and then the rest is for them. i never buy a gift, prefer giving cash, figure thats more useful

  • gifts are just not given around here. Cash only. We give depending on whether it's a relative or friend. Never less than 100 and usually around 250 or more.
