  • Is anyone else doing heparin shots?

I do two shots per day, 5,000 units each. The shots are in my lower belly and until today, didn't really bother me. But my now my belly is so bruised and painful that it hurts to sit or lie down.

    Anyone else having this issue?

  • You know I do. I'm not sure if you saw my other post about injecting really slow, and I mean like super super slow. Also make sure you put the needle in at a 45% angle.

  • Really? 45 degrees? They told me to go perpendicular to the skin so that's what I've been doing. Maybe I'll try the 45 degrees and see if that helps.

I think I figured out part of the pain. One of the shots has developed a little knot under the skin near my belly button and that's what's causing most of the pain. I'm all bruised everywhere but that's the one that hurts the most.

  • ya I get those knots too sometimes, they hurt really bad. Try the 45% angle and going slug slow should help.
