  • Hey expecting mommys! Im due in March with my first and we feel so blessed and excited!

Has anyone else had the feeling that their job is no longer a priority, and saying goodbye to the money and the career goals might be worth spending my energy being the best mommy and wife I could be. Im not sure if financially its realistic, but Im already brainstorming money saving ways and how we could possibly make it happen. Id love to hear others thoughts on this topic.

  • I couldn't agree with you more. Although my hubby is the one who stays home with our daugther (and soon to be son)- I think it is the best if one parent can stay home. I have alot of opinions about this, but don't want to offend anyone- so private message me if you want to chat about it more. Welcome to TBC and Congratulations!!!!

  • That's so great that your hubby is so supportive of his family! Im not sure what im going to do bc right now i cant afford to quit my job, but I also cant afford good child care so Im literally asking God for help and having faith that something will happen between now and March

  • You would be surprised where you can cut back when you have too. You should make a budget and start looking at what could be cut out or made cheaper- at least it is a starting point!!

Can you cut back to part-time? Can you work different hours? If you had "career goals" in the past, I don't know if it's a great idea to let go of them completely, all at once. If all you ever wanted to do is be a mom and you can afford it, then that's a different story. I'd want to be sure that being a SAHM was what I really wanted once the baby was born, I'd tried out staying home, and the hormones were back in check somewhat.

Although it would be great if someone could stay home (and I hope you can) sometimes, like in our case, it's just not financially possible. Dh and I work opposite shifts, so the baby is only with a sitter for 2 1/2 hours /day.

Good luck, and I hope you work out the perfect situation for you!
