  • Has anyone here had this? I was reading about some of the symptoms and was wandering if I might have this. I have a Dr appt Wed morning so I'm going to talk to them about it then. But the last few days my hands have been swelling SO bad at night that I can hardly move them. They ache so bad it hurts to even type this. I haven't really been able to do much for a few days because my hands feel unusable. I have also been having some cramping. I was reading that those are symptoms of preeclampsia.

  • I had this with my first. My hands swell too but its just a normal pregnancy thing. Is your face swollen? BP high? Has the doctor mention to you that you have protein in your urine? You may also have blurred vision or see black spots with PreE. If its just your hands swelling I wouldnt be to concerned. But either way talk to your provider about it!
Thank you Keepers!

  • The main sign of pre-eclampsia is high blood pressure. If you haven't had a problem with your BP up to now, it's highly unlikely. Unfortunately the swelling is just a normal miserable part of being this far along! Try to sleep on your left side and not lay on your hands (like having them under your head or pillow).
Thank you ChandyRae!

  • My blood pressure was elevated the last two times that I went to the Dr. I know that swelling is common, but this is sudden and freakish. Its to the point where even my bones inside my hands hurt so bad! I usually sleep more on my left side, with my arms around my body pillow. My face isn't swollen, but I have felt like at different times that my vision is blurred, but not constantly. I'm definitely going to mention this to my Dr. I didn't go through swelling this extreme with my first.

  • If you have SUDDEN, SEVERE swelling, I would call your doctor right away! Honestly I would try calling and getting your appt moved up asap.
Thank you ChandyRae!
