My doctor's office told me when I was pregnant with dd that the twin gene has to come from the mother-to-be's side. I was releived b/c all I ever heard was that it skips a generation and Dh's mom is a twin! Since his brother only had 1 kid & it was not a twin, I thought for sure we would end up with twins. But per my doc, it wasn't gonna happen unless my mom was a twin or twins ran on my side. Not sure who's right since I never googled it or anything, but we did not have twins, whew! Although part of me thought it would be neat, but Dh said if we had twins right off bat that he was done b/c that'd be his 2 right there lol!

My number was nearly twice as high 2 days after I got my positive test. When they did my scan the baby was measuring a few days small for my due date (my babies always run small in the first trimester). Anyway, one healthy baby growing in there! Your second numbers will tell you a lot more about what's going on. I chose to not get my first numbers so I didn't drive myself crazy. I'm sure with a first # that high I would have been insane and I had no symptoms at the time.

Fraternal twins is the genetic tendency to drop two eggs at once. Identical twins is a fluke though and can happen to anyone.

Good luck and I hope you see happy doubling numbers for your next draw!

I was gonna say... your dh is shooting millions of sperm up there regardless... it has more to do with twins in your family.
